Over the past few weeks I’ve been immersed in figures, futures and figuring out which has been great and has also opened up some great ideas and new directions. BUT, and there is a but, what do these new directions mean, where are they headed and most importantly should I take them?

After reading Fion Gunn’s wonderfully insightful article on the Artist Curator I followed the link to ArtZip – the first bilingual contemporary art magazine dedicated to bringing together the world of art in the UK and China – and found some more articles on curating.

This all started by a chance scan of my Linkedin Account where I came across an article from Fion Gunn about the Artist as a Curator. The topic really resonated with me so I read and read and read the articles on the ArtZip site and found some very useful information, not only from a curation aspect but also information that is really relevant I think to the artist – and artists in any genre as it explores what your curator, and for curator read audience, is looking at and how they perceive your work depending on how you present it.
